Creative Growth, Global Workshops, & Startup Pitching
The power of simple questions and continuous learning through new experiences
This past month has been packed with exciting travels, workshops, and new learnings. I’ve been thinking a lot about the value of embracing mistakes and asking big questions, both personally and professionally.
One quote that’s been sticking with me lately is by Joseph Chilton Pearce:
To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.
Mistakes are just part of the process, and I’m finding more and more that moving forward despite those mistakes is where the real growth happens.
Pondering Big Questions
I’ve been reflecting on some important questions that are helping me refocus on what truly matters:
What activities do you LOVE doing that fully engage you?
What would this look like if it was a simple answer?
What is the task that you could do every day, and would make you feel accomplished?
I’m curious: what big questions have you been asking yourself lately? Hit reply and let me know! Maybe we can brainstorm together.
From Oman to Bahrain (and Soon: Slovakia!)
I recently spent time in Oman, leading workshops for startups on B2B sales strategies, and coaching 11 Omani startups on perfecting their pitches. After that, I emceed the finale of StartUp Bahrain’s September Weekend—one of my favorite events!
Watching this entrepreneurial community grow and thrive with each new weekend event has been incredibly rewarding.
Next up: I’ll be facilitating and speaking in Slovakia at Startup Weekend Žilina in just 6 weeks! If you know anyone in Slovakia, Eastern Austria, or nearby regions, feel free to connect me—I’d love to meet them while I’m there!
Quick Tips for Startup Pitches
One of my favorite things to work on is helping startups refine their pitch. Here’s some of the advice I shared recently in Oman and Bahrain:
Make sure your audience understands what your startup does within the first slide.
Personalize the problem with a story—get them to feel the importance of what you’re solving.
Avoid technical jargon; keep it simple, so everyone can follow.
Keep Growing & Embracing New Ideas
From Oman’s sinkholes (everyone told me this is actually where an asteroid hit—unconfirmed, but that’s what I keep hearing) to Bahrain’s bustling startup community, I’m constantly reminded that growth often comes from stepping out of our comfort zone. Whether it’s trying something new or improving your craft, keep going!
Stay creative and keep pushing forward!
You’re the best.
